The end of the week is here, but the boxing news does not stop..
DAZN News takes a closer look at some of the stories people are waking up to today. Friday, January 30.
Elif Turhan is back.
The Turkish destroyer became one of boxing’s most talked about fighters at the backend of last year when she produced a brutal display to become world champion with a stoppage over Beatriz Ferreira.
The result and performance caused a huge shock, and it instantly made Turhan a star as Eddie Hearn, her promoter, lit up watching the impressive performance.
Tomorrow night in Newcastle, Turhan returns despite fighting last month and it is a case of striking whilst the iron is hot as Matchroom look to capitalise on their latest big puncher.
Turhan has created a buzz and the more she fights the more she will be exposed to a variety of audiences who have long wanted to see a destructive female knockout artist.
Awaiting Turhan is Australia's Taylah Gentzen, and if the current IBF lightweight champion is successful, mouthwatering clashes against the likes of Terri Harper and Caroline Dubois could be next.

Fabio Wardley is still waiting for his next fight to be confirmed, but his manager has stated that his man is more than ready to face Tyson Fury at some point in 2026.
Fury announced his comeback earlier this week with Arslanbek Makhmudov set to be his comeback opponent in April.
The original plan for Fury was a return bout before heading into a showdown with Anthony Joshua, but with the latter still nursing injuries from a car crash in Nigeria, it is unclear what will come next for the former two-time world champion.
Wardley is WBO heavyweight and after a stunning 2025 that saw him stop both Justis Huni and Joseph Parker, this year could be even better if he was able to beat Fury.
"We all know that Tyson doesn't duck anybody, and he's proved it once again by calling out Fabio,” said Mike Ofo, Wardley’s manager, when speaking to Sky Sports .
"Fabio is more than up for fighting Tyson and would welcome what would be a huge event for British boxing this summer. Let's get it on!"
Is Wardley vs Fury set to be the biggest heavyweight bout in Britain this year?
Ben Shalom is targeting a fight with Claressa Shields for his Welsh hope, Lauren Price.
Price returns to the ring on April 4 as she defends her world titles against Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Aquino, but her promoter is already looking ahead.
Shields is seen by many as the best fighter in women's boxing, but Shalom is adamant that his fighter can be the first to beat her.
"For me, she's the best female on the planet. She's the one that's going to go all the way. She's the one that's going to beat Claressa Shields,” said Shalom when speaking to BoxingScene .
“She’s the only female, I think, on planet Earth that can beat Claressa Shields, and that’s a credit to Claressa. But Lauren Price is a phenomenal athlete, and for her to box in front of her own crowd on BBC is going to be a huge moment in her career.”
