Ekow Essuman ready to shock fight fans in Josh Taylor showdown
Ekow Essuman is looking forward to a fight which he labels as 'perfect' on May 24.
Making the trip to Glasgow, Scotland, Essuman will be facing former undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor live on DAZN.
Essuman may have one loss on his 22-fight professional record, but he has firmly established himself as a solid contender on the British welterweight scene.
The man from Nottingham is never afraid to let his hands go when inside the ring, his fight against Owen Cooper last July was one which kept fans on the edge of their seats with multiple knockdowns and ended in a tenth round stoppage win for Essuman.
Taylor will no doubt be Essuman's biggest test date and speaking at Wednesday's launch press conference, the 35-year-old is excited to show sides of his style that fight fans may not have seen before.
"Yeah, it’s a perfect fight," Essuman said.
"You’ll see flickers of the engine, flickers of the spectre, you’ll see different sides to me.
"That’s exactly why I wanted these big fights, a few people have slept on a few different sides to me.
"I don’t think he’s sleeping on me in any way, shape or form, he’s just been focusing on what he’s been focusing on so it is what it is.
"I perform the best in the lion’s den."
Essuman's clash with Taylor tops an exciting card at the OVO Hydro which will showcase some stars of Scottish boxing, including Nathaniel Collins and Lee McGregor who meet in an exciting bantamweight contest.
