Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker hopes his career resurgence continues on Saturday live on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
Parker will be going up against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in the co-main event of Riyadh Season's The Last Crescendo, which will be headlined by the undisputed light heavyweight title rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Dubois has been a wrecking ball in the heavyweight division as of late, knocking out his last three opponents, his most recent victim being Anthony Joshua in September.
Now he comes up against an opponent in Parker who is also enjoying the best period of his career. The New Zealander's last two wins have come against heavy hitters in the form of former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, and Parker still beat the latter on the judges' scorecards despite being knocked down in rounds three and eight.
Coming up against another hard puncher in Dubois, some are questioning whether Parker has the chin to withstand the power from 'Dynamite', and when speaking to The Stomping Ground, Parker was confident that his chin could stand up to the challenge.
"I don’t want to be getting hit with all these big shots, but if it does happen, I have a good chin," Parker said.
"I’ve shown it in the past and I’ll show it again.
"It’s not so much about taking these punches, it’s about going out there and performing, and hitting and not getting hit. That’s the name of the game."
There is a lot at stake for the winner of Dubois-Parker, with the winner likely to secure an undisputed title fight with Oleksandr Usyk after the Ukrainian expressed his desire to face the winner of this particular contest.
