Teofimo Lopez has faced some of boxing’s biggest names, but that has not prevented Keyshawn Davis from saying the New Yorker is scared of him.
The bout is set to be fought at a catchweight of 145lbs meaning that Lopez could retain his WBO title regardless of the result and resume his career at super-lightweight.
That would open the door for a potential battle with Davis and with the Virginia man making excellent progress in the professional games as WBC lightweight champion, he would represent a significant test to Lopez.
First up for Davis is a defence of his belt against Edwin De Los Santos this weekend, and although he is focused on that fight, he could not resist an attack on Lopez.
“Teo is so f-----g scared of me,” said Davis when speaking to FightHype .
“He wanna move up to 147 because he knows I’m on his ass. I can’t keep chasing people. At this point, I don’t wanna keep bullying him.”
