Kieron Conway's next fight confirmed after stunning British middleweight title victory

Kieron Conway will defend his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles in a domestic blockbuster encounter with George Liddard this October, live on DAZN .

'Too Class' secured a stunning fourth-round knockout victory in May over Gerome Warburton to unite the two major domestic straps and underline his top-tier credentials.

Now, he will square off with the unbeaten Liddard after the latter won an eliminator the same month against Aaron Sutton to challenge for his crowns and place atop the pile.

Victory for either could catapult them towards the conversation of a move beyond homegrown shores and towards world ranking contention, making this a high-stakes affair.

There was never much doubt over this bout coming to fruition unless Conway elected to vacate his belts, either to make a move in division or status through the ranks.

A handy win over Sutton for Liddard means that the rising star, now 12-0 in the ring, was always going to be front of the queue when it came to challenging for the Lonsdale Belt.

It means there will be a fascinating matchup between two stars six years and several fights apart, but arguably both with the prospect to push their ceiling even higher.

At 29, Conway has plenty more miles on the clock, but with two domestic straps to his name, the question will now be there as to whether he has the nous to move higher.

Meanwhile, at 23, Liddard will know that a clinic performance could be the ticket that catapults him up the pecking order at the expense of his more senior rival.

The pressure will be off him, even with a zero next to his name, as Conway looks to keep his five-fight hot streak alive - but make no mistake, the dice are high for both.
