Manny Pacquiao will be back in the ring on July 19 , but who is the legendary star’s favourite fighter today?
Pacquiao will end four years of inactivity next month when he goes for WBC title glory against current champion, Mario Barrios.
The multiple world champion has featured in some exhibition bouts, but you have to go back to 2019 for his last win when he produced a vintage performance to get past Keith Thurman.
Now being opposed by Barrios, Pacquiao will somehow have to rediscover his best form at the age of 46 if he is to become world champion again.
Perhaps one fighter who could inspire him is Naoya Inoue, who is currently one of the best boxers operating today.
The super-bantamweight star has impressed for many years now and Pacquiao has heaped praise on the Japanese ‘Monster’ by stating that he is his favourite boxer today.
“He has speed, power, movement,” said Pacquiao when speaking PPV.com .
“I like him because he moves so fast and never stays in one corner. That’s a boxer. That’s what you’re supposed to do in boxing.”
