Ryan Garner hopes victory over Reece Bellotti will take him "one step closer" to a major homecoming bout at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium in the near future.
The pair battle for the British, Commonwealth and European super featherweight titles at the Bournemouth International Centre tomorrow night, live on DAZN.
Garner, unbeaten in his professional career so far, heads along the south coast looking to sweep all domestic titles and subsequently move towards world level.
That would come hand-in-hand with a major stadium show at the home of his beloved football club, and speaking at the weigh-in, Garner outlined his ambitions once more.
"I'm confident," he said. "Get through tomorrow and I'm one step closer to St Mary's. Everyone from Southampton, they're all behind me, the club is behind me.
"I've just got to deliver now. It's written in the stars. It's destiny. I've just got to keep performing and I know I will. Come tomorrow night, I'll put on a big statement [win]."
Ex-Saints favourite and England international James Beattie was on hand to hold the belts at the weigh-in, and further underlined hopes Garner can deliver to set up his dream.
"It would be a massive night for Southampton," he added. "Me and Ryan have had conversations about it. You've just got to take each fight as it comes.
"The dream is always there, but you've got to take care of business, take care what's in front of you and what's in front of Ryan is tomorrow night."
