Boxing legend Mike Tyson is wary of Terence Crawford moving up two weight divisions to face unified super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
It was confirmed last week that Alvarez had signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season with one of the bouts being against Crawford in September.
A clash between Alvarez and Crawford has been talked about for the past year or so, but many fans came to the conclusion that the contest will only happen if the latter makes the jump from super welterweight to super middleweight.
With Crawford more than happy to move up two weight divisions, two generational greats will now go head-to-head with Las Vegas the likely stage for the fight.
However, boxing legend and former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is concerned about Crawford's weight and instead would like to see 'Bud' take on a current welterweight champion.
“You know, I don’t like that fight. I don’t like that fight. It’s just too much weight," Tyson told the It Is What It Is podcast.
"He had a close fight with the last guy he fought [Madrimov] cause this guy was big and he was awkward. I want to see him fight one of the Charlo brothers. Or the young brother from Philadelphia, I forgot his name. Ennis."
Crawford last fought in August when he beat Israil Madrimov to become the WBA super welterweight champion, and it looks like the American will not be taking a warm-up fight before facing Alvarez.
