Pat Brown justified the hype regarding his professional debut as he scored a grueling fourth round stoppage In Manchester against Federico Grandone.
The 2024 Olympian is seen as a fighter expected to lead the new charge of talent coming out of Manchester and he displayed that quality against the tough Argentinian.
Making a fast start, Brown showed why he is a fighter to be feared as his relentless attack quickly had Grandone in trouble.
Grandone responded well and continually fought back with bad intentions and he was able to make his mark on the contest in bursts.
As the fight wore on, it took its toll on Grandone and after being on the receiving end of sustained attacks from Brown, the referee made a sensible intervention.
Guided by Jamie Moore, one of boxing's most respected trainers, Brown’s work in the gym has been well-documented in the build-up his mentor will be happy with what he seen.
With Sam Jones, Brown’s manager, pulling strings behind the scenes and describing his fighter as a ‘ferocious puncher,’ everything said about Brown in the weeks leading to his debut were proved to be correct.
The key now for those plotting his career will be to find Brown fighters who can provide more rounds as he gets ready for his inevitable jump to title class.
“He was a game bugger. He came to win,” said Brown to DAZN afterwards.
“I want to get back into the ring as soon as possible. I’m ready.”
Eddie Hearn, Brown's promoter, was impressed and have his fighter significant praise, "He's the future of British boxing."
