Leading manager names the 'ferocious puncher' who he thinks will be world champion in two years
Sam Jones’ latest star signing will make his professional bow this weekend as Pat Brown headlines in front of his home supporters in Manchester.
Brown tops the latest Matchroom bill against Federico Javier Grandone and there are high hopes within the British boxing scene that the big puncher can be a huge success.
Holding the main event spot on DAZN on March 28, Brown will be looking to make a huge statement when he goes in with the tough Argentinian.
Managed by Jones, trained by Jamie Moore, and promoted by Eddie Hearn , Brown has some big names backing him ahead of his first fight.
Representing his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Brown was expected to perform well but his medal dreams were ended in the round of 16 by Brazil’s Keno Machado.
Despite the disappointment, Brown has now placed his focus on the professional code and replicating massive Manchester fight nights previously put on by the likes of his trainer and Ricky Hatton.
Jones, who has guided major names to the business end of boxing, cannot hide his excitement surrounding the debut of Brown.
“Listen, I know I always give my fighters as much coverage as possible but remember me telling you what I’m about to tell you. This kid is going to be special,” said Jones during an exclusive chat with DAZN News.
“I will eat my hat if Pat Brown is not champion of the world in two years' time. Remember I said this because it’s going to happen.
“Wait until you watch him in action. I’ve been around so many fighters during my time in this sport and Pat is by far one of the most ferocious punchers I've seen.”
