Conor Benn has been a man of few words this week.
Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. are preparing for their April 26 fight, shown live worldwide on DAZN, and the build-up to the event kicked off with press conferences in Manchester on Tuesday and in London on Thursday. The Manchester press conference gained worldwide attention as it ended with Eubank smashing an egg against Benn's face, and on Thursday Benn had an opportunity to address the incident.
However, the 28-year-old remained stoic through most of the London conference as Eubank once again did most of the talking. Aside from interjecting in a discussion between Eubank and Nigel Benn, Conor's father, the younger Benn spent most of the evening allowing others on the dais to speak.
When asked for his thoughts on the egg incident, Benn kept things simple and reiterated his assertion that Eubank is unliked by those around him.
"He's an idiot. He's an idiot, and that's all there is to say to him," Benn said of his rival. "And I can't wait for him to get absolutely smashed to pieces April 26.
"His own team don't even like him. Look at his team. His own team don't even like him — they're pretending. They're pretending."
