Jack Catterall’s world title aspirations are currently on hold, but the Chorley fighter could still land a big showdown later this year.
Eddie Hearn, Catterall’s promoter, has revealed that talks are underway for Catterall to face Harlem Eubank later this year, with July a possible date.
Those plans were dashed earlier in 2025 though as Catterall was defeated by Arnold Barboza who has since gone on to lose to Teofimo Lopez whilst trying to win the WBO crown.
Eubank, the cousin of Chris Eubank Jr, has quietly been building his profile and a win over Catterall could be the platform required to push on towards even bigger fights.
Currently 21-0, Eubank has caught the attention of the terrestrial TV audience with his fights going out live on Channel 5, but a contest with Catterall is a significant step up in class.
“We are in negotiations. I want to make that fight,” said Hearn when speaking to BoxingScene.
“One, because I think it's a really good fight, and two, the Eubank name is hot right now, and I think it'll be a great build-up.
"I think Jack needs a really good fight to come back. Harlem's on a great run, been racking some big numbers on Channel 5. We hope to get it over the line. It's not done yet, but hopefully. Watch this space.”
