Carl Froch has long been critical of Jake Paul’s boxing credentials, and he has now admitted that he would be ready to end his lengthy retirement and return to action to face the popular American.
Paul returns to action on June 28, live on DAZN , as he faces a serious test against former world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, in what promises to be an intriguing battle.
Last year, Paul competed in one of the year’s biggest sporting events as he headlined a huge show with Mike Tyson, one of boxing’s biggest ever names, in the opposite corner.
Despite the success of the show, the fight, which Paul won, drew some criticism due to Tyson’s age and length of time away from the ring , but Chavez Jr is expected to provide a tougher assignment.
Froch, one of Paul’s most fierce critics, has fired insults at him for a number of years and he has made it clear that he dislikes him.
Out of the ring since stopping George Groves in 2014, Froch has been linked to several comebacks, but he now made it official that he would return to combat if a fight with Paul could be secured.
“Jake Paul cannot bring himself to mention my name anymore, answering any questions,” said Froch when speaking to Sporting Talk via Pokerstrategy.com.
“The more he talks about me, and don’t forget he started talking about me, I can’t be arsed to get gloved up and go in the ring with anybody, but I’d happily step in and knock his teeth down the back of his throat just for the sake of boxing.
“He now doesn’t mention me because he knows when I respond back it all goes against him and everyone says he’s no chance against Froch, even 10 years retired, I’d happily hammer him. Jake Paul is a little b---h man, he’s not going to fight anybody.”
