Jake Paul has revealed that if he was to fight Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, it would be an exhibition instead of a professionally sanctioned bout.
To the dismay of some boxing fans, Paul has become one of the biggest names in the sport and is calling for fights with a number of pound-for-pound stars.
There is no denying whenever Paul fights, a huge audience follows with over 100 million people tuning in to watch his clash with Mike Tyson last November.
Paul is hoping to continue creating and participating in events of this magnitude in the future and one of those could be against 'Tank' Davis.
If Paul's recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show is to be believed, a clash with Davis was on the table following his fight with Lamont Roach in March. However, the majority draw between Davis and Roach scuppered these plans according to Paul with a rematch set to be confirmed later this year.
"I mean that was on the 1-yard line as well, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach. He wants to get that back and then we’ll be back in discussions with Mr Gervonta," Paul said.
"This is the nature of boxing; you have massive fights on the 1-yard line, and they just fall through."
When it came to discussing the specifics of a fight with Davis, Paul clarified a shock weight for the contest along with an explanation for why it would be classed as an exhibition.
"195," Paul responded when asked about what weight the fight will be contested at.
"It would be an exhibition, 10 three minute rounds. No restrictions, just the fact we couldn’t actually get it professionally sanctioned."
While Paul awaits a possible showdown with one of boxing's biggest stars, 'The Problem Child' is set for a return to the ring on June 28 when he faces Julio Cesar Chavez Jr live on DAZN PPV.
