Alexis Rocha and Raul Curiel will look to end their 2024 on a solid note Saturday night when they clash in a welterweight tilt at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California, and live on DAZN.
With the stakes high between Rocha (25-2, 16 knockouts) and Curiel (15-0, 13 KOs), DAZN News lists the keys to victory for each fighter.
Rocha does an excellent job of depositing power punches to the body early. This is his way of keeping opponents honest as they have to respect the power and pain those shots cause.
Pretty soon, they are lowering their guard just enough for Rocha to land something upstairs.

In addition to flat out pounding away at the body, Rocha likes to utilise his stab jab to the midsection before firing off on a looping left either to split or wrap around opponents’ guard.
He does this combination with succession against Curiel and there is a good chance he will be banking rounds to victory.
Yet another variation that Rocha can offer is feinting to the body only for the southpaw to unleash that sneaky left hand that stings opponents.
It worked his last time out in a unanimous decision over Santiago Dominguez this past summer. And it could be the same recipe that Rocha seasons to perfection against the undefeated Curiel.
Curiel likes to flick out that left-handed jab as a setup punch to his more damaging right. But the shot is crisp and he is able to sting opponents with it which brings us to his next key to victory.
If Curiel starts touching Rocha with his jab, it’d be in his best interest to walk the welterweight down with it.
That forward-fighting will given Curiel his best shot to uncork his overhand right to monstrous results.
Curiel has shown the ability to not only split fighters’ guard with his right hook but also go over their guards altogether toward thunderous results.
In Golden Boy Boxing’s The Showdown, Curiel vowed that Rocha isn’t on his level. Now, the KO artist can attempt to prove it with his overhand right likely being a major means to fulfilling that promise.
