Daniel Dubois is expected to return to the ring this summer and his target fight is not a showdown with Joseph Parker.

In February, Dubois was scheduled to defend his IBF heavyweight title against Parker in Saudi Arabia, but the bout was postponed at the last minute .

Dubois was pulled from the fight just two days before it was set to take place after coming down with illness meaning Martin Bakole stepped in before being stopped in two rounds by Parker

The impressive display by the New Zealander seemingly kept him at the front of the queue for a world title fight, but Dubois has other options.

After stopping Anthony Joshua last September at Wembley Stadium , Dubois immediately became one of boxing’s biggest names and several fighters will want to face him.

One of those could be Oleksandr Usyk, with the Ukrainian looking to become undisputed world champion at heavyweight for a second time against a fighter he knows well.

Usyk defeated Dubois in the summer of 2023 , but the London man appears to be much improved now and Frank Warren, the man steering Dubois’ career, has had his say on his next move.

“He’ll probably be back in summer. What’s a harder fight, Joe Parker or Usyk? What’s the bigger fight? It’s a no brainer. I don’t get where anybody’s brains can be on this,” said Warren when speaking to Seconds Out

“He ain’t ducking anyone. The objective of the fight that didn’t happen was that the winner would face Usyk. So if the Usyk fight can be made, it will be made. We’re talking.”
