Callum Walsh returns to action this weekend and the Irish prospect is highly fancied to usher in a new era of boxing that will feature the input of TKO, fronted by Dana White.
The UFC pioneer recently revealed that he will figure in a partnership alongside His Excellency Turki Alalshikh with the announcement set to give boxing a further shot in the arm following a sustained period of superb fights.
Although details of the relationship are still unconfirmed, it is expected that there will be a focus on searching for the next big star of boxing and Walsh certainly believes he falls into that category.
Promoted by Tom Loeffler, the man who guided the career of Gennadiy Golovkin, Walsh has not put a foot wrong in his professional career after basing himself in Los Angeles under the tutelage of Freddie Roach.
Currently 12-0, Walsh is quickly building himself into contention for a title run and he can take one step closer to that position when he faces Dean Sutherland on Sunday in New York City for a St Patrick’s Day weekend event.
With TKO set to install their footprint on the sport and Walsh already possessing White as part of his team, the man from Cork is ready to deliver on the big stage.
"I don't even know what his official role is, but I know he's definitely on board 100 per cent to help my career," said Walsh when discussing White with talkSPORT.
"He and Freddie have a good relationship, and then he and Tom were working on putting boxing on UFC Fight Pass.
"So that's how the relationship came through Tom. They were working on a deal, and then Tom had just signed me, so he brought me to Vegas to meet Dana.
"Freddie then talked to Dana about me and said that I was one of the best young fighters he's ever seen. That made Dana believe in me, and now he wants to help me win a world title."
