Terence Crawford would have made more money from his career if he a showman, but Amir Khan believes the star can back up his claims against Saul 'Canelo' Alarez.
The two are set to meet later this year, with a reported September date for a blockbuster showdown as the pair of quadruple champions look to deliver against each other.
In spite of his success, Crawford arguably represents the underdog in their encounter, in no small part due to Canelo's broader international profile and reputation.
Ex-light welterweight champion Khan, who fought both men, concurs that a more outre personality could have helped the American rake in even more coin too.
"Some fighters need that flamboyant style and a bit of fun to sell a fight, but Crawford is a straight shooter and doesn’t care about the numbers," he told Spinbit.

"But if he did have that Canelo or Floyd Mayweather attitude, he’d have made a ton [of] more money and would be an even bigger name.
"Canelo is the superstar going into this fight, but you can’t look past Crawford and say Canelo will win this fight easy."
As for Crawford's own claims that he is among the three best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet, Khan concurred and admitted the star can prove his mettle here.
"I believe what he has said there because Terence would be doing something not a lot of people could do," he added.
"You have to hold your hands up and say he is one of the best out there. Canelo is so good at what he does and is such a superstar/
"Not because of how great of a fighter he is but he is such a big name in the sport. Everyone wants to fight him, he is that PPV star so that adds up.
"Terence isn’t really that PPV star yet. I don’t think he has hit the PPV market the way he should have.
"In my opinion, he should have because he is one of the best I have ever seen. He punches perfectly, and I’ve been in the ring with the guy, he is amazing."
