Joseph Parker may have had all the advantages over Martin Bakole this weekend, but Andy Lee still believes the result is proof his star should have a title shot next.
The New Zealander dispatched the Congolese fighter inside two rounds at Riyadh Season's The Last Crescendo after the latter replaced Daniel Dubois at short notice.
Parker, who had been due to bid for two-time world champion status against the Briton, had the benfit of a long camp compared to Bakole, who had to jet in for the bout.
But regardless of this, Lee feels the circumstances do not diminish Parker's performance and repeated calls for him to be given another opportunity to reach the summit.
"He was training for eight weeks, he's sparred plenty of rounds," he told The Stomping Ground. "He's been in Saudi Arabia for three weeks.
"He's done the best conditioning, the best preparation that anybody could have had. Poor Martin had to fly halfway around the world.
"We had all the advantages in there. For me, he's the best heavyweight in the world right now. Give him the chance to prove it. Joe can match [Usyk]
"It worked out well, and it's another win. Look at who we have on the resume. Give us a title fight next. Joe needs a title fight."
