His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has announced that pound-for-pound star Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.
This announcement has capped what has been a manic few days regarding Alvarez's future in the sport of boxing.
First, it was confirmed that the Mexican would be facing Terence Crawford in September, but then this was called off after Alvarez was seemingly set to face Jake Paul in May.
This contest is now off the table following the Riyadh Season deal, and in a video on X, Alalshikh shared his plans for Alvarez in 2025 and 2026.
"Canelo, in Riyadh in May," Alalshikh said.
"The biggest fight in the history of boxing in September. Then two more fights in 2026.
"Don't mess with the lion."
Alvarez also confirmed the deal with Riyadh Season on his X account, replying to a post from Alalshikh with "Let's go brother."
When it comes to who Alvarez will be facing as a part of the deal, the September meeting with Crawford appears to be back on for Las Vegas in what will be a fight for the ages.
