Delicious Orie 'living life' ahead of professional debut alongside Olympic heroes
Delicious Orie admits he is "living life" ahead of his professional debut, as the former Olympian prepares to face Bosnia's Milos Veletic this weekend live on DAZN .
The star will look to start on the right foot at Heavy Impact this weekend , the first card in a deal between DAZN and Queensberry Promotions, at Manchester's Co-op Live.
Orie, who competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games eight years after headliners Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic claimed medals, arrives with a terrific amateur record.
Speaking at Thursday's climactic media event , the heavyweight admitted he was delighted to reach his debut under Frank Warren as he aims to shine on the biggest stage.
"I'm just happy to be here," he said. "When I started boxing in 2016, I saw Joyce win his silver medal at the Olympics, Hrgovic win his bronze. I was looking up to these guys.
"Here I am sat with them on the table, on the same card. I'm living life at the moment. It's different. There's a slight adaptation [from the amateur game to professional].
"The last eight years, I'm just been focused on the Olympics. I've been planting my feet, getting used to the smaller gloves and I can't wait to put it all together on Satuday."
Queensberry Promotions boss Warren echoed his latest charge's words ahead of his professional start, adding: "I'm delighted that Delicious is making his debut with us.
"He's a great addition to a division that's so lively at the moment. He's on his journey, it starts on Saturday night and he'll want to make it an emphatic win."
