Exclusive: Ammo Williams using next fight as platform for undisputed glory
Austin Williams is a fighter with a point to prove as he aims to show doubters that he is a huge threat at middleweight.
Williams returns to action this weekend, live on DAZN, and he is insistent that he will make a statement when he faces Patrice Volny.
Last year, Williams’ professional world was turned upside down when he suffered the first loss of his career when he was stopped by Hamzah Sheeraz in Saudi Arabia.

Williams is fully aware that it could have been him lining up for such a shot and he knows what he needs to do moving forward to land one of his own.
The middleweight division is currently undergoing a transformational period with the bulk of its fighters all looking above and targeting a showdown with Canelo Alvarez.
Williams has long wanted to be recognised as the world’s best middleweight and after reflecting on the Sheeraz loss, he is back ready to stake his claim.
“That was the hardest time of my life, and I never accepted that defeat as something normal,” said Williams during an exclusive chat with DAZN News.
“I’m still in the running for a world title as me and Volny is an eliminator so that WBA title shot is right there. Sheeraz had his shot so he’s still in that running with me.
“There’s no excuses from that fight but I’m now in a camp where I train every day and there’s no short cuts. Everything is in flow, and I can now grow and evolve into the best version of myself.
“There’s a more clear-minded Ammo Williams to come. I know that is going to take me to world title level, undisputed world title level, and it will keep me there.”
