Fury vs Hanjalic - May 9 live on DAZN PPV

Tommy Fury has declared himself in “amazing condition” ahead of his eagerly-anticipated return to the ring against Kenan Hanjalic on Friday night which is live on DAZN.

The 26-year-old cruiserweight has not fought since beating YouTuber KSI – real name Olajide William Olatunji – in a boxing match in October 2023.

He will now face 27-year-old Bosnian Hanjalic, who has fought five times since making his pro debut in 2019, winning four times and losing once.

Fury, who is unbeaten in 10 fights, underwent hand surgery after his win over KSI in Manchester, a bout which was not licensed by the British Boxing Board of Control.

In an exclusive interview with DAZN ahead of Friday’s fight in Hungary, Fury said: “The body is feeling in an amazing condition.

“The hand is feeling amazing and I've been training this week in gloves with my hands wrapped how I'm going to have them on fight night.

“Everything feels amazing and all the way through sparring it has felt amazing.

“There is no niggle – nothing – so I'm very happy how everything has gone.

“It couldn't have gone any better so at the end of the day I'm just ready for fight night now.”

Fury was scheduled to face former UFC fighter Darren Till in January, but pulled out of the contest after threats of “MMA tactics” from his opponent.

The Mancunian has been based in Budapest while he trains for his comeback fight against Hanjalic.

It will be Fury’s first fight in over 18 months and he cannot wait to get back in the ring.

Fury added: “My hand is back feeling fantastic and we're all fixed up there.

“I've likened it to a new chapter that has been opened – and it starts on Friday night.”
