Liam Cameron has called out Ben Whittaker over the apparent lack of progress in a rematch between the pair, after they fought to a controversial draw in October last year.

The pair met on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's first undisputed light-heavyweight clash at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Having been expected to deliver a statement performance cementing his own light-heavyweight credentials, Whittaker seemingly took both men over the ropes in the fifth round.

The bizarre incident came with Cameron seemingly on top, and now the former has issued a public challenge to his rival, questioning why their next bout is nort sorted.

"Hi Ben Whittaker," he wrote on X. "We doing this rematch or what? My promoter Queensberry has made you a very good offer for this fight.

"Your promoter Ben Shalom has knocked it back immediately, saying he wants it on [a] BOXXER show, so tell him to get his wallet out and let's dance."

Cameron has claimed since the pair's first fight that Whittaker's move, which ended the fight, was a premeditated escape route and pushed for a rematch.

However, it appears that stumbling blocks between Queensberry's Frank Warren and BOXXER's Shalom are currently slowing down any potential second bout.

The latter previously suggested Whittaker would be chasing a return to the ring in February or March this year, though he did not suggest it would be against Cameron.
