Turki Alalshikh teases British opponent for Canelo Alvarez in 2026
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has teased the possibility of the winner of Chris Eubank Jr's fight with Conor Benn facing unified super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
Eubank Jr and Benn are confirmed to finally meet on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the build-up officially getting underway on Tuesday with a press conference in Manchester before another is staged in North London on Thursday.
This contest will see Benn go up two weight divisions to face Eubank Jr as this historic British boxing rivalry is reignited.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Alalshikh hinted that the winner of this bad-blooded fight could face Alvarez, who has signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.
"Whoever is the winner we are working in the future to have him fight against Canelo," Alalshikh said.
"If Eubank wins, he will have the chance to do Canelo at the beginning of 2026.
"We have two big conferences, one in Manchester on Tuesday, and one in London on Thursday, it will be huge.
"And I think it will be a great fight. And also the undercard is strong. The result of this fight and the undercard will impact the future of our cards."
If the winner of Eubank Jr-Benn was to face Alvarez next, then it is likely this bout would take place in 2026 with the Mexican set to face William Scull for undisputed honours in May, and then Terence Crawford in September.
