Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson - Former Gennadiy Golovkin trainer has his say on huge bout
The talented and unbeaten pair currently occupy the top spots at 135lbs and when their fight eventually happens, it is certain to do big business.
Both men have impressed on their way to the top using different styles, but it is expected that their fight personas will gel perfectly for an explosive encounter.
Stevenson, a three-weight world champion, has used his boxing skills to great effect so far and those attributes have allowed him to be identified as one of the sport’s best fighters.

For Davis, he is well known for his attacking prowess and his power has seen him create damage in many weight classes as well as scoring a huge stoppage win against Ryan Garcia.
In his last fight, against Lamont Roach, Davis did show some uncharacteristic flaws as he was held to a draw in a shock result , but that has not dampened the appetite for a fight between him and Stevenson.
Abel Sanchez, the legendary trainer who guided Gennadiy Golovkin to world title glory, has had his say on the potential blockbuster and what Stevenson has to do to win.
“He’s gonna have to win rounds. He just doesn’t do enough to win rounds decisively. Just not busy enough at times and too perfect. These guys are gonna do what’s necessary to win rounds,” said Sanchez when discussing Stevenson with Fight Hub TV.
“Shakur has to be a little more forceful I think to deal with these guys. I don’t think that his approach can stay the way it is now and be able to deal with a Lamont or with a Gervonta.”
