Amanda Serrano knows better than anyone what it takes to step into the ring with Katie Taylor, but the Puerto Rican star would love to do battle with the fight being staged with three-minute rounds.
On July 11, at Madison Square Garden, the venue of their first fight, Taylor and Serrano will clash again with the latter aiming to register her first win over her great rival.

At the backend of 2024, on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s huge fight with Jake Paul, Taylor and Serrano met again and after another ten absorbing rounds, it was Taylor who got the nod .
Due to the closeness of their first two bouts and the high drama they have provided, Taylor vs Serrano 3 is set to be another epic encounter.
Serrano has long called for three-minute rounds in women’s boxing, but she was unable to persuade Taylor to make that leap and the fight will go on with two-minute rounds.
That news has ‘disappointed’ Serrano, but that has not taken away her focus and she will be ready for war when round 21 gets underway this summer.
“I’m disappointed that Katie Taylor did not keep her word and make the trilogy 12 three-minute rounds, equal to the men,” said Serrano when speaking about the fight.
“This is a record-setting payday for both of us, and we owed it to the fans to honour the handshake deal we made. She didn’t.
“But make no mistake, every time we share the ring, it is war, and I know Friday, July 11, will be the greatest yet because I will finally get the official W I deserve.”
