'I'm ready' - Pat Brown confident he can control emotions ahead of professional boxing debut

Watch Brown vs Grandone live March 28 on DAZN

Pat Brown is confident that he can keep his emotions in check when he makes his professional boxing debut on Friday night.

Broadcast live on DAZN, Manchester's Brown will face Argentina's Federico Javier Grandone in front of his passionate army of fans.

There are big things expected of Brown with his devout following, and it was a race between promoters to acquire the Olympian's signature following last year's games in Paris.

In the end, it was Eddie Hearn's Matchroom who won the race to sign Brown to a professional contract with the hope that he will become the next big star in British boxing.

For Brown, his Olympic campaign in the French capital was short lived after suffering an opening round split decision loss, but he has already embraced everything that comes with the fanfare of turning professional with huge expectations.

Speaking to the media for the final time on Thursday ahead of his bout with Grandone, Brown insists that he is ready to make the next big step in his boxing career.

"This is part and parcel of the pro game," Brown responded when asked how he is coping with the increased exposure for this fight.

"I’ve said it multiple times, if you want to make it to the top, you’re going to have a lot of eyes on you, loads of media, if I can’t hack it now then I may as well pack my bags and leave.

"I’m grabbing it with both hands, you only have one pro debut, it’s going to be an electric atmosphere, and this is where my mind frame switches, and I turn into a different animal now. I’m ready."
